About the Role 

As an investor, we provide strategic operational support to our portfolio investments. Several of our team members come from operational backgrounds where individuals focus on various aspects of digital marketing, sales, and account management. In this role, you will facilitate investment transactions that maximize the impact of this capacity in collaboration with the broader investment team. 

Successful candidates will have a creative, analytical mind and possess an aptitude to understand B2B software and technology-enabled services businesses across verticals. He or she will navigate investment activities and conversation with executives to secure key deals for the firm. 

Here is what you will do: 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Reporting directly to the Head of Business Development, the BD Investment Associate will lead new deal origination through identifying, cultivating, and collaborating with target company executives, investment advisors, corporate finance teams and financial sponsors to originate high-quality investment opportunities for the firm 

  • Spearhead thematic lead generation projects, executing marketing and one-to-one solicitation strategies over email, cold calling and LinkedIn outreach leveraging best-in-class marketing, sales and database technologies 

  • Lead the qualification and ingestion of new investment opportunities through NDA processing, investment thesis generation, term sheet construction and execution 

  • Meet with key decision makers in software and the investment community through city trips, conference participation, general networking through industry associations 

  • Develop a high proficiency in the firm’s CRM construction and administration  

 
Secondary Responsibilities: 

  • Build financial models, researching industry dynamics, and writing investment memorandums for potential investment opportunities 

  • Analyze companies during the due diligence process, by developing a deep understanding of their customers, sales process, lead generation, churn, product positioning, competition, team and market. 

  • Work with the CEOs of portfolio companies to design and implement targeted M&A to support buy-vs-build and consolidation objectives.  

You’re likely a great fit if you have: 

  • 1-3 years of deal origination, private equity or sales experience (ideally in the B2B enterprise software or tech-enabled services sector) 

  • Strong understanding of M&A/private equity investing  

  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously with extreme attention to detail 

  • Strong project management, organizational, process management, and communication skills 

  • Excel in building strong relationships 

  • A bachelor's degree from a top university with a strong GPA
