JOB SUMMARY:
We're seeking an Operating Director, Marketing to drive scalable growth marketing strategies across our portfolio companies. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on building replicable marketing systems, accelerating pipeline generation, and creating operational leverage as we continue to expand through acquisition.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Portfolio-Wide Growth Marketing

  • Develop and implement standardized growth marketing frameworks that can be deployed across multiple portfolio companies
  • Build scalable demand generation programs (paid, organic, ABM, events, content) that drive qualified pipeline and revenue growth
  • Establish marketing operations infrastructure and best practices that support M&A integration and rapid scaling
  • Create centralized marketing technology stack strategies and vendor relationships to drive efficiency and cost savings

Performance & Pipeline Management

  • Own aggregate pipeline and revenue targets across the portfolio in partnership with sales leadership and operating partners
  • Establish consistent funnel metrics, reporting cadences, and performance dashboards across all companies
  • Drive data-driven optimization of campaigns, conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs
  • Build financial models linking marketing investment to pipeline generation and revenue outcomes

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with portfolio company CEOs, sales leaders, and product teams to align go-to-market strategies
  • Work closely with PE operating partners to support portfolio value creation initiatives
  • Collaborate with investment team to assess marketing capabilities of acquisition targets and build integration playbooks

Market & Segment Strategy

  • Identify high-value market segments and develop targeted campaigns for vertical SaaS opportunities
  • Build industry-specific programs around government, education, cultural heritage, enterprise security, and corporate information management sectors
  • Leverage intent data, account-based marketing, and sophisticated segmentation to reach complex buying groups
  • Create differentiated positioning and messaging frameworks that can be adapted across portfolio brands

Marketing Operations & Technology

  • Design and implement marketing automation, CRM integration, and analytics infrastructure
  • Establish MarTech governance, including platform selection, implementation, and optimization
  • Drive testing frameworks for landing pages, messaging, channels, and conversion optimization
  • Build repeatable processes for campaign execution, lead management, and sales handoff

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field
  • 5+ years in marketing with a strong preference for:
    • Proven track record building and scaling demand generation programs in B2B SaaS environments
  • Experience in a Fortune 1000 or Fortune 500 Business
  • Experience working in Private Equity or Venture Backed firms
  • Experience working across multiple business units, divisions, or portfolio companies
  • Deep expertise in marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and analytics tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Deep expertise in Clay or other data enrichment products

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
  • Strategic thinker who can also execute hands-on tactical work when needed
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities; comfortable with data analysis, dashboards, and performance diagnostics
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority and build consensus across distributed teams
  • Experience building systems, processes, and playbooks for scalability and replication
  • Ability to translate complex marketing concepts into clear business outcomes for non-marketing stakeholders
  • Strong project/program management skills with ability to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously
