Our customers do not buy software so much as they buy the continuity of a catalog that has been built, in some cases, over a century. That makes implementation the moment the relationship is decided.
First, migrations. Legacy installations in this sector are heavily customized, with bespoke data constructs and workflows built up over years. Moving them onto a current platform is a data problem before it is a software problem, and feature-parity gaps have to be found in scoping rather than discovered at go-live.
Second, upgrades. Our library services platform is not multi-tenant. An upgrade is not a platform event; it is a project per customer, run against a live production catalog that the customer cannot afford to have offline. A release wave across an installed base is therefore a coordinated delivery program, and it is the work most exposed to being done badly.
You will carry a live project book from week one. You will not be building a function from scratch — the reporting, utilization view, and project governance already exist and are improving. You will be the person the hardest projects are given to.

Why this role exists
Customer Delivery is moving from a "do everything for the customer" model to defined roles with clear ownership. This seat is the delivery half of that change: a hands-on implementation professional who takes a signed project from kickoff to signed customer acceptance, and who can be trusted with the two hardest categories of work in our book.First, migrations. Legacy installations in this sector are heavily customized, with bespoke data constructs and workflows built up over years. You will carry a live project book from week one. You will not be building a function from scratch — the reporting, utilization view, and project governance already exist and are improving. You will be the person the hardest projects are given to.
What you'll own
- End-to-end project delivery. A concurrent book of implementation and services projects across the suite — our library services platform and our archival collection management products. Kickoff, discovery, scoping, configuration, data migration, integration setup, user acceptance testing, go-live, and signed customer acceptance.
- Data migration and reconciliation. Extract, profile, transform, map, load, and reconcile customer catalog and archival data. Own the mapping specification, the validation plan, and the reconciliation evidence the customer signs against.
- Legacy-to-current platform conversions. Scope conversions off highly customized legacy installations, produce an honest feature-parity gap assessment before the project is committed, and deliver the conversion with product and engineering.
- Upgrade delivery for the installed base. Own and improve the upgrade runbook, then execute the upgrade wave tied to each scheduled release. Sequence customers, agree windows, manage rollback, and land upgrades without production disruption or regression.
- Configuration and enablement handoff. Configure metadata models, cataloging templates, workflows, permissions, and reporting to the agreed specification — then hand off cleanly to the training and adoption team, who own post-go-live enablement.
- Delivery pace as a revenue control. Project revenue in this business is recognized on delivery, not on billing milestones. Slipped delivery is slipped revenue. You own the completion of what you committed, in the quarter you committed it, or you own the early and specific escalation that resets it.
- Operating discipline. Time logged weekly, project status current, risks raised in writing before they become escalations and estimates that hold up against your own actuals.
- Customer onsite delivery. Onsite discovery, data workshops, go-live support, and recovery visits — in North America, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.

Your first 90 days

| Days 1–30 | Product and data fluency on the two platforms you will deliver on. Shadow two live projects. Read the open project book and give your manager an independent read on which commitments you believe are at risk and why. Take first ownership of two to three in-flight projects. |
| Days 31–60 | Carrying a full assigned book. First migration mapping specification authored and validated by you. A written assessment of the upgrade runbook, naming the specific steps that make upgrades slower or riskier than they need to be. |
| Days 61–90 | At least [two] projects taken to signed customer acceptance. Your assigned share of the release upgrade wave scheduled with dates and customer windows agreed. Time logging and status reporting clean for the full quarter, without reminders. |
How success is measured
Targets are set with your manager on joining and reviewed quarterly. Utilization is deliberately paired with completion: high utilization with low completion means projects are being over-worked, and it is treated as a problem, not a result.What we are looking for
Required
- Five or more years implementing enterprise or specialist software for external customers, personally owning delivery from kickoff to acceptance.
- Demonstrable hands-on data migration work: profiling messy source data, authoring mapping specifications, transforming and loading, and reconciling the result well enough that a customer signs against it. SQL, plus at least one scripting language you use for real work (Python, PowerShell, Perl, or equivalent).
- Experience configuring a metadata-driven or catalog-driven application — data models, controlled vocabularies, templates, workflows, permissions, and reporting.
- A track record carrying eight or more concurrent customer projects without losing status accuracy.
- Experience with single-tenant, on-premise, or dedicated-instance deployments, where an upgrade is a per-customer project rather than a platform release. This is the single most important differentiator in this search.
- Credibility under go-live pressure: you can hold a date when it should be held, and reset one early, specifically, and in writing when it should not.
- Time-logging and forecast discipline as a habit, not an imposition.
- Clear written English. Mapping specifications, status notes, and risk escalations are the artifacts of this job.
- Authorized to work in the United States or Canada without sponsorship, and able to overlap with United Kingdom business hours for part of the working day.
- A valid passport and willingness to travel internationally, including to the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Strongly preferred
- Delivery experience in the GLAM sector — galleries, libraries, archives, and museums — or in special libraries, legal information services, or records management.
- Working knowledge of cataloging and archival description standards: MARC 21, Dublin Core, EAD, ISAD(G), RDA, OAI-PMH, or Z39.50.
- Prior work on an integrated library system, library services platform, archival collection management system, digital asset management system, or resource-sharing platform.
- Public-sector or government contract delivery, including work under formal acceptance and security requirements.
- Jira and Confluence as day-to-day delivery tooling.
What we are not asking for
You do not need to be a librarian or an archivist by training, and you do not need to have sold anything. Domain vocabulary can be learned in weeks by someone with genuine migration and delivery competence. The reverse is not true.Compensation
Base salary range for this role, published by country. The range reflects the level, not the location within a country; there is no location differential applied within either country.
